p. 37 ex. 3. Read and listen. Who makes the shoes at night? / Прочитай і послухай. Хто виготовляє взуття вночі?

The elves make the shoes at night.
– Ельфи виготовляють взуття вночі.

Many people in the town want a pair of the shoes and soon the shoemaker has got a lot of money. But who is making the shoes?
– Багато людей у місті хочуть придбати пару цього взуття, і незабаром у шевця з’являється багато грошей. Але хто виготовляє взуття?

The shoemaker wants to know. One night he hides under a table and waits.
– Швець хоче це дізнатися. Однієї ночі він ховається під столом і чекає.

At 12 o’clock the shoemaker sees five elves.
– О дванадцятій годині ночі швець бачить п’ятьох ельфів.

They jump onto the table and start making the shoes.
– Вони застрибують на стіл і починають виготовляти взуття.

The shoemaker sees their clothes too. They are very old and not very nice.
– Швець також бачить їхній одяг. Він дуже старий і не дуже гарний.

At 5 o’clock in the morning the elves stop and leave the house.
– О п’ятій годині ранку ельфи припиняють роботу й виходять із будинку.
