There are eight planets in our solar system. It also consists of a star and many asteroids and comets.

У нашій Сонячній системі є вісім планет. Вона також складається з однієї зірки та багатьох астероїдів і комет.

There are billions of galaxies in the universe. Each galaxy has got billions of solar systems! Everybody knows that, right? Well, there's more!

Our galaxy, the Milky Way, has got up to 400 billion stars, and one of them is the sun. The sun is in the centre of our solar system and all the planets move around it. It is important for life on Earth because it gives us light and heat.

Our solar system has got eight planets, not nine like we used to think: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Scientists don't consider Pluto a planet any more, but a dwarf planet, because it's very small. So, the smallest planet in our solar system is Mercury and the biggest is Jupiter. Also, the closest planet to the sun is Mercury, but it isn't the hottest. The hottest planet of all is Venus, but don't think you can sunbathe there: it has temperatures of about 460 °C! Neptune is the farthest planet from the sun, and it is one of the coldest planets of the solar system along with Saturn and Uranus. Temperatures on Neptune can reach -220 °C!

У Всесвіті є мільярди галактик. Кожна галактика має мільярди сонячних систем! Усі це знають, правда? Але є ще цікаве!

Наша галактика – Чумацький Шлях – містить до 400 мільярдів зірок, і одна з них – Сонце. Сонце знаходиться в центрі нашої Сонячної системи, і всі планети рухаються навколо нього. Воно важливе для життя на Землі, тому що дає нам світло і тепло.

Наша Сонячна система має вісім планет, а не дев’ять, як ми раніше думали: Меркурій, Венера, Земля, Марс, Юпітер, Сатурн, Уран і Нептун. Учені більше не вважають Плутон планетою, а карликовою планетою, тому що він дуже маленький.Отже, найменша планета нашої Сонячної системи – Меркурій, а найбільша – Юпітер. Також найближча планета до Сонця – Меркурій, але вона не найгарячіша. Найгарячіша планета – Венера, але не думайте, що там можна засмагати: температура там приблизно 460 °C! Нептун – найдальша планета від Сонця, і він – одна з найхолодніших планет Сонячної системи разом із Сатурном та Ураном. Температура на Нептуні може досягати -220 °C!
