A.

It all happened two months ago. It was Monday afternoon and I was walking back home from school. Suddenly. I saw a black cat That's bad luck.’ I thought.
When I got home. I saw the cat again In our garden. I quickly ran outside but It was very windy and the door closed behind me. I got locked out! I had no keys, phone or money. My parents were away for a few days, so nobody could help me. Luckily, my bedroom window was open, so I took a ladder and started climbing up. Unfortunately, while I was climbing, a police officer saw me. 'Come down immediately!' he shouted. I was shocked!
I tried to explain the situation but he didn't want to listen. Fortunately, after a while, our next-door neighbour heard us. came out and said to the police officer. 'I don't think Chris Is a burglar! That’s his house!' Well, maybe I was lucky in the end.

1. Does the writer say when and where the story happened? → Yes: ...Monday afternoon.... When I got home... / Чи повідомляє письменник, коли і де сталася історія? → Так: ...понеділок вдень.... Коли я повернувся додому...

2. Does the writer mention the events of the story In the order In which they happened? → Yes:...I was walking back home...,... I saw a black cat, _./ got home..., I saw the cat again..., ...ran outside, the door closed behind me, I got locked out, etc. / Чи згадує письменник події оповідання в тому порядку, в якому вони відбувалися? → Так:...Я повертався додому...,... Я побачив чорного кота, _./ прийшов додому..., Я знову побачив кота..., ...вибіг на вулицю, двері закрито за мною, мене зачинили тощо.

3. Does the writer use present tenses to describe what happened? → No, he uses Past Simple and Past Progressive: I had no keys.... My parents were away..., ...nobody could help me, ...while I was climbing, a police officer saw me, I tried to explain... but he didn’t want to listen, etc. / Чи використовує письменник теперішній час, щоб описати те, що сталося? → Ні, він використовує Past Simple і Past Progressive: у мене не було ключів.... Моїх батьків не було..., ...ніхто не міг мені допомогти, ...поки я піднімався, поліцейський побачив мене, я намагався пояснити... але він не хотів слухати і т.д.

4. Does the writer use adjectives and adverbs? → Yes: suddenly, black, bad, quickly, windy, luckily, open, unfortunately, immediately, shocked, fortunately, next-door, lucky. / Чи вживає письменник прикметники та прислівники? → Так: раптом, чорний, погано, швидко, вітряно, на щастя, відкритий, на жаль, відразу, вражений, на щастя, сусідський, на щастя.

5. Does the writer use linking words? → Yes: suddenly, when, but, so, while, after a while, in the end. / Чи використовує автор сполучні слова? → Так: раптом, коли, але, так, поки, через деякий час, зрештою.

6. Does the writer say what finally happened? → Yes: A neighbour told the police that Chris wasn’t a burglar. / Чи розповідає письменник, що врешті-решт сталося? → Так: сусід сказав поліції, що Кріс не був грабіжником.

B. 

1. Raymond was in the lift all alone. Suddenly it stopped. He was frightened! / Реймонд був у ліфті зовсім один. Раптом він пзупинився. Він злякався!

2. When Susan left the room, they started talking about her. / Коли Сьюзен вийшла з кімнати, вони почали говорити про неї.

3. We were walking on the beach when it started raining. Luckily it stopped after a while. / Ми гуляли по пляжу, коли почався дощ. На щастя, через деякий час це припинилося.

4. Tracy had a very nice book about Spain. Unfortunately, she lost it. / У Трейсі була дуже гарна книга про Іспанію. На жаль, вона її загубила.
